"Gauge theory transport coefficients from String Theory: a review"

Time: 4 pm    Place: room 831, Pupin Lab

Abstract: We'll review the origins and the steps leading to the conjectured gauge/string theory duality. Particular emphasis will be on how to compute gauge theory quantities at strong coupling from string theory. We then apply these tools to the computation of transport coefficients.
